FAQ

Questions homeowners ask

The free check

What happens at the free check?

A local pro measures every joint and crack on your driveway (and patio or walks if you ask), photographs them, and texts you one exact price. It takes about 20 minutes.

Do I need to be home?

Not if the driveway is easy to reach. You'll get the photos and the price by text either way.

Is it really free? What's the catch?

The check costs you nothing and there's no obligation. The contractor pays SealCheck a referral fee for the visit, so you never pay us anything.

Who actually comes out?

An independent, insured crack-sealing contractor who serves your area. SealCheck matches you with one pro, and you'll get their name before they arrive.

Sealing and your concrete

Why do driveway joints need sealing?

Open joints let water under your slabs. In winter that water freezes and expands, which chips edges, lifts slabs and spreads cracks. A sealed joint keeps the water on top, where it drains away.

What does sealing usually cost?

It depends on how many feet of joints and cracks you have and their condition. That's why the check is free: you get the exact number instead of a guess.

When is the best time to seal?

Late spring through early fall, when concrete is dry and above about 40°F. If it's too cold, the pro books the work for the first good window and the price holds.

Can every crack be sealed?

Most can. If a slab has sunk or broken too far, the pro will tell you what sealing can and can't fix. Some driveways need nothing yet, and you'll hear that too.

How long does sealant last?

It depends on the product, the joint and how much the slabs move. Ask your pro what they use and what they expect; a good one will tell you plainly.

Your information

Will my number be sold to a list?

No. Your request goes to the one pro who does your check. No call centers, no bidding war.

How do I stop texts?
